If you suffer from an occasional bout of insomnia, therapeutic grade essential oils might do the trick to get you back sleeping like a baby. (Why do we say that? Like babies sleep, right?) While chronic insomnia might indicate adrenal fatigue, hormonal imbalances or other physical disparities, here are a few do-it-yourself essential oil blends that could lull you off to a restful night’s sleep.
Insomnia Aromatherapy Blends
- 10 drops Roman chamomile
- 5 drops clary sage
- 5 drops bergamot
or
- 12 drops orange
- 8 drops lavender
- 3 drops valerian
- 2 drops Roman chamomile
Directions: First, make sure that you are using therapeutic grade essential oils from Young Living. You knew that I was going to say that, right? If you need to know why, read about therapeutic grade essential oils. Blend the oils well in a clean dark-colored glass bottle. Add 1-2 drops to a tissue and place inside your pillow to aid you in falling asleep. In addition, rub a few drops onto your shoulders and the bottom of your feet.
If you prefer you can also diffuse either of these blends during the hour before bedtime or set the diffuser on a timer to diffuse in your room periodically during the night. To make a larger portion, make the blends using the same ratio as the ones above. Keep in mind that 15 ml bottle hold approximately 250 drops of essential oil. For instance, 30 drops of Roman chamomile, 15 drops of clary sage and 15 drops of bergamot.
Taking 2 tablets of ImmuPro or applying RutaVaLa Roll-On before bedtime also aids in a restful night’s sleep.

I’ve been meaning to email you for advice on helping my 14 year old son, Carter, go to sleep, stay asleep and/or go back to sleep. He goes through periods of insomnia that end up turning our lives inside out. I hate the idea of medicating him, but we really need some help!
I’m going to play around on the site and see about ordering. Thanks for reading my mind.
