Healthy Mom, Healthy Family

Healthy Mom with Young Living Essential Oil“Change in society begins with the mother, who passes those feelings on to her family, which in turn influences society.”  His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

There is an old saying that goes “If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.”  I used to think it meant that everyone in the household needed to do everything perfect so that mom wouldn’t come unglued and the whole house would go up in flames!  With the passing of time and wisdom acquired through experience, it now has a completely different meaning for me.

Women are hardwired as the caretakers of the household.  We are depended on for nourishment, safety, comfort, encouragement, creativity and in many cases, financial stability.  If we get sick, we still, for the most part, get out of bed and manage to do what needs to be done.  Yet what happens when we are not at our optimum for long stretches of time?  I want you to think about this for a moment.  If a mother is not healthy both physically and mentally, how can she provide the best for her family?  What affect will the day-to-day choices borne out of illness and fatigue have on her children and ultimately, on society as a whole?  It becomes imperative that as women, when those oxygen masks drop down from the overhead cabinets, we put them on ourselves first, before we tend to those around us.  When we do, we will be at our optimum as we serve our family and community.

As you continue to read this blog, you will learn the basics of how to incorporate Young Living Essential Oils into your daily life to achieve ideal health in body, mind and spirit.  So maybe it should read “If mama ain’t healthy, ain’t nobody healthy.”
